The coast has finally started going off in the last week. Big swell and strong winds make for a great trip. Try heading a little bit further south to Manzanita, Oregon where the winds are consistently 20-25 with blue skies. This last Saturday, there was 8 foot swell with 20 knot winds, making for perfect 12m conditions (9m Slingshot Rev for me).

It was my first time in big waves but I wasn’t able to really enjoy the swell with a small twin tip. Next time I’ll be sure to take a directional or mutant style board with me! We carry the Liquid Force 5′8″ and 6′0″ surfboards, the Slingshot SRT 5′11″ and we can get any of the surftech boards. Just contact us the next time you head to the coast if you want to try one out.

Here’s Jim “Stringy” Stringfellow and Mike “Miguel” Hill with the Surf Tech 5′10″ Ratboy and the Slingshot Fuse. They had so much fun, they ripped up the waves for over three hours.

Even though it was practically his first time in the waves, Brandon channeled Kelly Slater as he knocked the top off the breaking waves. I even saw him tucking into a little tube at one point! Penny was lovin every second in the swell, just like she used to get back home in California.

Jim’s daughter, Abby, had an awesome time on the Slingshot B2 Trainer Kite. She was doing kiteloops like a pro! It won’t be long before we see her on the water, schooling the boys. Manzanita is a great surf town with fun stuff for the whole family. Skimboarding, bikes, horseback riding, boogie boarding, and great food. Even when its cloudy just 15 miles north in Seaside, its almost always sunny in Manzanita. Keep an eye on the coast forecast. You can find it on our wind page if you scroll down to the bottom.
